Community Pride and Gateway Streetscape Foundation will join forces to help remove trash from area roadways, businesses and residences starting on Monday, September 28th, and culminating with the Smith River Clean Up on Saturday, October 3rd. Community volunteers will be joining forces to help remove trash from our area highways and from the Smith River. Gateway and Community Pride invite all local groups and volunteers to exhibit their “community pride” by making a difference in our local area. October 3rd will concentrate on the Smith River and specifically the Fieldale and Bassett areas. The Saturday river event will be held from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., with a kick off at the Fieldale Ball Park. All volunteers will receive a small gift and the Smith River Clean Up will be held rain or shine.
